ALOT was founded in 2008 by Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona and Mantova provinces for the promotion of infrastructures and logistic and transport services in Eastern Lombardy as well as the mobility improvement.
The Company, whose capital is fully public and equally shared between the four provinces partners, operates for the provinces themselves and represents a connection tool between public and private in the development of sustainable transport for the area.
ALOT has been designed as an incubator, developer and manager of projects for sustainable mobility on a Local European level, through the transfer of experiences and skills developed by the provinces in the last five years of planning on an inter-regional and transnational level.
Any support activities held by the lombard Company for the four provinces is reflected into the expression of opinions on the local planning end on the development of new infrastructures; into the development of new projects; into the funding research; into the consulting and administrative support for projects financed through European funds; into the development of strategic studies and marketing plans; into the organization of exhibitions and work tables; into the interaction with the companies which operate in the area.
ALOT primary objective is to promote the use of intermodal transport infrastructure in the area, contributing to the development of new infrastructure and transport services and implementing effective plans of any local logistic setting and planning, through a dialogue with the operators.
The Company is also focused on the creation of a knowledge base for freight and local logistic supply/demand and its aim is also to support and release the best logistic initiatives, in order to create a real culture about that into the local production area.
To achieve these objectives ALOT is holding strategic functions such as:
